Volkswagen Passat Facelift, Specs Leaked

Volkswagen has been keeping its Passat facelift for 2011 under wraps for a while now. But it appears  that a new alleged photo of 2011's Volkswagen Passat has surfaced on the website of Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet. The paper has sourced the photo directly to VW, handed to the paper by a distributor in Norway.

This supposed Passat image shows a car with new headlights that do away with the bulged design on the current Passat. The lenses look to be shaped slightly different than those seen in a previous leaked image.

What is the same is the new, flat…

Volkswagen Golf GTI is a Sound Machine

The 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTI has been given a kick in the ass and made into a "rolling sound machine."

CarFilmComponents, a tuning company over in Europe, used their "Styling Station" to work out a scheme to pump up performance capabilities of the Volkswagen Golf GTI MKVI, while adding in a sound system almost guaranteed to cause complete deafness.

Based in Neuss, Germany, the fellas over at CFC Styling Station offer an engine computer unit upgrade that bumps up power to 265 horsepower - not bad for the Golf GTI. The company's latest show car features an Eisenmann exhaust with…

Volkswagen Beetle Runs on Humans!

This may be one of the most interesting, and most disgusting Volkswagen Beetles to ever come from the small car maker. An eco-friendly fuel company has replaced the regular fuel and engine components of an all new VW Beetle to run on humans...human excrement that is.

GENeco and the man in charge Mohammed Saddiq have created what is being dubbed the "Bio Bug" - Converted to run on methane gas produced by human waste, the Volkswagen Beetle can maintain a top speed of 114 mph. The 2.0-liter car performs just as well on methane as on conventional fuel.

Volkswagen Commercial Vans Make A Comeback

The classic VW Van is starting to make a comeback, but not in the way you might think. Volkswagen's classic box van was once the transportation (and many times, living space) of hippies traveling cross country, or kids trying to have a little fun outside of their parent's home.

But VW wants to resurrect its well known square vehicle, but not as a hippie transport. The German auto maker is setting up a new line of commercial vans to be released in Europe and eventually the United States.

The latest commercial compact van is known as the Volkswagen…

Volkswagen profit jumps on U.S. sales

Aspiring "world's largest carmaker" Volkswagen today posted its best quarterly profit in a couple years, thanks to making more money in China (on higher demand for VW Jetta and Lavida and Audi A6) and the USA.

Sales in China, its largest market, jumped 46% in the quarter 950,729 cars, while its car market share there held at 17.9%. U.S. sales are much smaller, but were up 29% to 175,323 vehicles, boosting market share from 2.8% to 3.1%. As part of CEO Martin Winterkorn's effort to pass Toyota as No. 1 in the…

Volkswagen Jetta Coupe Rumored

Several patent drawings of the Volkswagen Jetta Coupe have leaked onto the web. These pictures of a once rumored Jetta two-door concept now make it clear that the German auto maker is planning a sportier version of their highly successful vehicle.

The official sketches were apparently leaked out of a government trademark office.

While details are limited, the car looks virtually identical to the New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept which debuted at the 2010 North American International Auto Show.

Compared to the concept, the production model features a revised grille, a modified lower air intake, and a dual exhaust system…
